The pandemic killed Poblacion nightlife, but community spirit is keeping it alive

In 2021, I wrote a piece for CNN Philippines Life about the community spirit behind Barangay Poblacion, a small area in Metro Manila’s business district known for its nightlife culture. The COVID-19 pandemic left Poblacion’s business owners in survival mode but efforts undertaken by loyal goers allowed spaces to continue thriving.
