Miko Tiu Laurel Studio
Web design, layout, exhibition design
I designed the website for Miko Tiu Laurel’s studio and recent exhibition “What Lays Beneath a Black Hole; In Other Life.”
The August 2024 exhibition explores the link between personal narratives and cultural identity, inviting audiences to experience an artistic response to post-colonialism through a recontextualized, decolonized Philippines. Tiu-Laurel aims to decolonize shared historical experiences, bringing focus back to folk arts, lore, and spirituality through a contemporary lens.
“It serves as a platform for me to address imperial and generational trauma through art, promoting heritage and environmental conservation efforts,” said Tiu Laurel.
Apart from the website, I was a member of the exhibition team, where I helped stage and produce the event and performance, held in Ojeras Studio in Brooklyn.
